Shentel DSL packages include:
- Five e-mail addresses
- 5 MB of personal web space
As part of the set-up, Shentel will assist the customer in configuring a single PC to operate with the DSL modem. Network set-ups or multiple PC configurations are not included. If networking services are required, please refer to High-Speed Requirements for companies that can offer further assistance.
Shentel also offers customers the option to self-install DSL. The self-install kit is mailed to customers or can be picked up at the Customer Service Building at 106 S. Main Street in Edinburg. The kit comes with a handbook and a CD with easy step-by-step instructions. Self installation and the self installation kit are offered free of charge.
Maintenance Charges
While Shentel does offer around-the-clock support for DSL service, users may experience a charge for support depending on the source of the problem and the time of day the problem is identified and corrected. Please see the chart below for an explanation of our maintenance charges.
Note: Maintenance and billing of High-Speed Internet service is the responsibility of Shenandoah Telephone Company while the Internet portion of the service is responsibility of ShenTel Service Company.
