Medical Response Alarms

The Medical Response System enables you to summon help without having to dial a telephone. This is especially useful for the elderly, handicapped, or anyone with medical, security, or personal safety concerns. The Medical Response System improves the quality of your life by allowing you to remain at home, be independent, and provide peace of mind for you and your family.

How Does the Medical Response System Work?

When you need help, press the small alarm, which can be carried or worn. Automatically, you will receive emergency help 24 hours a day.

The Medical Response equipment will use your telephone line to dial the Shenandoah Telephone Company Alert Center and will summon help from any source you desire, such as the Sheriff's Department, your family, friends, neighbors, or medical authorities. You decide who is notified by the Alert Center.

Shentel offers the Medical Response System in the following Virginia counties:

The equipment portion for the Medical Response System can be purchased or rented on a monthly basis. The monitoring service is billed monthly.
