Calling Features
Make Your Telephone Work For You

Call Waiting
A tone alerts you to an incoming call when you're already on the line. Never miss important calls again.
How it works
A soft tone indicates an incoming call. If you wish to take the call, place the original call on hold by quickly pushing the switchhook. Press it a second time to return to your original call. Repeating this process enables you to alternate between the two calls, each of which is private. To terminate the original call, simply hang up. The waiting call will then ring and you can answer in the normal manner.
Note: For cordless phone models press the 'flash' button to switch back and forth between calls.
Cost: $1.75 per month.
Call Forwarding
Automatically transfer your incoming calls to any specified number, local or long distance. Forward your calls to where you are going.
How it works
First, dial 72#. After hearing the dial tone, dial the number you want your calls forwarded to. When someone answers at the forwarded number, Call Forwarding is in effect.
If the line is busy or there is no answer, forwarding can still be established by immediately repeating the above steps within two minutes. Two short tones indicate that forwarding is activated.
How to cancel
Dial 73#. Two short tones will indicate that call forwarding has been cancelled.
Note: If you forward your calls to a long distance number, you will be charged the appropriate long distance rate.
Variations of Call Forwarding are available. With Call Forwarding/No Answer, your phone will ring for 30 seconds before it is forwarded. When Call Forwarding/Busy is activated, calls will only be forwarded if your line is busy.

Remote Activation of Call Forwarding
Allows remote activation of a customer's call forwarding feature.
Cost: $4 per month.
Three-Way Calling
Makes it possible for you to talk with two people in different places at the same time.
How it works
Put your first call on hold by depressing the switchhook quickly. Wait for a dial tone and then dial the number of the third party. When the third party answers, you may talk privately before completing your three-way connection. Depress the switchhook again to add the holding party. Your three-way call is now in effect.
If the third party doesn't answer or the line is busy, simply depress the switchhook once to re-connect with the original party and then once again to eliminate a busy or ringing signal.
Cost: $1.75 per month.
Speed Calling
Allows you to place emergency or frequently dialed numbers, either local or long distance, by dialing a one or two-digit code. Whether you dial local or long distance, you'll save time because of the 8-number and 30-number list capacity.
How it works
Lift the receiver and dial the speed digit number assigned to the person you want to call.
How to establish an 8 number speed calling list
First, dial *74 and then listen for the special dial tone. Dial one of the 8 one-digit access code numbers (2-9). Dial the number you want to store under that code (dial 1 + 10-digit number for long distance). Hang up after you hear the sequence for each number you want to store.
Establish a 30 number speed calling list
Use the same procedure as for Speed Calling 8, except dial *75 to activate and assign a two-digit code (20-49).
Cost:
Eight code capacity is $1.50 per month.
Thirty code capacity is $1.75 per month.
Repeat Number Dialed
This allows you to repeat the last number dialed by entering an access code. It's quick and easy.
Code: *62
Cost: $1.50 per month.
Enhanced Ringing
This allows you to have two telephone numbers assigned to the same line. One number will ring normally while the other has a distinctive ring that determines which number is being called. This feature is great for a family with teenagers.
Cost: $1.75 per month.
Extension Intercom
This allows you to ring another phone location on your phone line by dialing your telephone number. After dialing your telephone number and hanging up the phone, your line will begin to ring. When the ringing stops, the extension has been picked up and you can now converse between the two phone extensions. This is a very useful feature for multi-storied homes.
Cost: $1 per month.
Call Hold
This option allows you to place a call on hold to free your line in order to make another call. You can then return to the first caller. This avoids "telephone tag".
Code: *52
Cost: $1.75 per month.
Toll Control
Toll Control provides you with the ability to restrict toll calls from being made from your line unless you first enter an authorization code.
Cost: $1.50 per month.
Do Not Disturb
Allows you to temporarily refuse incoming calls by dialing a special code. While this feature is activated all incoming calls will hear a recorded announcement. Great for daytime sleepers.
Code: *90 to activate. *91 to de-activate.
Cost: $3 per month.
Wake Up/Reminder Service
Enables you to request a wake-up or reminder call without live operator assistance, thus letting your phone be your alarm clock.
By dialing *97, followed by the digits corresponding to the desired wake up or reminder time, the system will automatically place a call to you at the specified time and deliver a recorded announcement. Up to two follow-up attempts are made at five-minute intervals if you do not answer or the line is busy.
Code: *97 to activate. *99 to de-activate.
Cost: $3 per month.
900/700 Call Blocking
Residences and businesses can request toll number call blocking service to prevent direct dialing of 900 and 700 numbers.
Cost: FREE for residences. $2 per month for businesses.
Note: Installation cost of any above service is $10 each.
