Have control over your telephone

Caller ID

Allows you to see the phone number of the caller before you answer the phone and also stores the numbers of local incoming calls along with the time and date they were received.

Cost: $6.50 per month.


Caller ID with Name Delivery

Displays both the name and phone number of the local incoming call as well as stores the date and time they were received. It's like having a "return address" on your incoming calls.

Cost: $7.50 per month.

Note: These two services are operable only when both the caller and called parties are located within Shenandoah Telephone Company's local calling area. Caller ID and Caller ID with Name Delivery require additional equipment, either a small display unit or a compatible display phone. You can purchase or rent this equipment from the Shentel Phone Store or other suppliers.


Calling Number Delivery Blocking

Allows you to block the delivery of your number when placing an outgoing call. This feature must be activated on a per call basis.

Code: *67 to activate.


Selective Call Forwarding

Permits you to pre-select 8 local telephone numbers that will be forwarded automatically to any specified number, local or long distance. This features allows you to control the calls that are being forwarded to you.

Cost: $3.50 per month.

Code: *64 to activate.


Selective Call Waiting

Permits you to be interrupted only by those numbers, up to 8, that you pre-select and program into your phone. Only those local numbers can activate your call waiting feature.

Cost: $3.50 per month.

Code: *62 to activate.


Cancel Call Waiting

Provides you with the ability to disable the call waiting feature for the duration of a call.

How it works prior to placing a call.

Dial *70. A confirmation tone will indicate that Call Waiting has been disabled for the duration of the call.

How it works during a phone call.

During the call, press the switchhook for one second. This will put your call on hold. Dial *70. A confirmation tone indicates that Call Waiting has been disabled and you are automatically re-connected with your call.

Note: Call Waiting is automatically re-activated when you hang up.

Cost: $1.75 per month.

Code: *70 to de-activate.


Selective Call Acceptance

Permits only those local numbers you have pre-selected, up to a maximum of 8, to complete a call to your number. Callers other than the pre-selected telephone numbers will receive an announcement that you are not accepting calls.

Code: *64 to activate.

Cost: $3.50 per month.


Selective Call Rejection

Gives you the ability to reject up to 8 local incoming calls. Callers from your pre-selected list will receive an announcement that you are not accepting calls.

Selective Call Rejection also allows you to block future calls from the last local incoming call received.

Code: *60 to de-activate.

Cost: $3.50 per month


Busy Redial

Allows you to automatically redial the last local call you placed from your telephone by entering a code. This time-saving feature will attempt to complete the call for up to 30 minutes. When the connection is made you will be alerted by a special ringing. You can also use this feature to redial the last number you called.

Codes: *66 to activate. *86 to de-activate.

Cost: $3.50 per month.


Return Call

Automatically redials the last incoming local call you received. If the number that called you is busy, Return Call will attempt to complete the call for 30 minutes and will notify you of a completed connection with a special ring.

Code: *69 to activate. *89 to de-activate.

Cost: $3 per month.


Priority Call

Can be used to identify important incoming calls by providing you with a distinctive ring for up to 8 pre-selected local numbers.

Code: *61 to activate.

Cost: $3 per month.
